Assist Managed Services has just successfully completed the delivery of over 62,000 food caddies with roles of 52 compostable bin liners to households across Bolton.

The deliveries undertaken in partnership with Bolton Council have provided residents with indoor food caddies allowing them to easily collect kitchen waste before transferring it to food and green waste bins for fortnightly collections.

Previously at least 25% of household waste collected in Bolton was leftover food which went straight to landfill. This situation will be monitored over the coming months and hopefully the provision of these food caddies will encourage residents to ensure 100% of food waste is recycled.

The deliveries took place over an intense four week period which included responding to new requests from residents whilst undertaking planned deliveries.

Mark Hoban, Neighbourhood Services Manager at Bolton Council commented ‘This is the first time we have worked with Assist. We were impressed by their professional approach to safety, staff training and their attention to detail.

Their distribution team worked very closely with staff from the Council to ensure that our residents received a quality service’.        
      
As part of this contract, Assist is eligible to work with 9 other members of the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities (AGMA).
