Assist and Calico’s relationship goes from strength to strength
Tuesday 25th October 2011 10:56
Assist has been awarded a further one year extension to its existing contract with Calico Homes; this will see Assist providing grounds maintenance services to the residents of Burnley up until April 2013.

The awarding of this extension demonstrates Calico’s continued confidence in Assist’s ability to deliver added value and excellent customer service. Assist will continue to work with Calico to maximise added value and develop community engagement through programmes such as Assist’s Youth Development Scheme, delivered in partnership with Calico’s Youth Academy.

The partnership between the two organisations has seen Calico residents undertake apprenticeships’ with Assist, to help develop a grounds maintenance service that has significantly increased resident satisfaction and improved service standards. As part of Assist’s Environmental Strategy, green waste recycling and chipping green waste to mulch shrub beds has significantly reduced Assist’s and Calico’s impact on the environment.

Bill Connolly, Operations Director for Assist, said: “We have a strong relationship with Calico Homes which has helped us work closely together to deliver continuous service improvements and added value. We are able to fully maximise the expertise and experience across both our organisations to ensure we maximise resident satisfaction levels.”

Ken Hilton, Open Spaces Manager for Calico Homes, said “Not only is the standard of work they complete of the highest order, but the consideration they convey when interacting with our residents is continually noted by staff and customers”
